How do I let Codex take actions on websites?

Short answer. Add AgentWeb to ~/.codex/config.toml as an MCP server. Codex then gets typed web actions on 1,462 real sites (as of Oct 20, 2026), like messaging on LinkedIn, posting on X or updating Crunchbase deals from your own accounts, at $0.05 per completed action with failed actions refunded.

Set it up

  1. Add the [mcp_servers.agentweb] block shown below to ~/.codex/config.toml.
  2. Restart Codex and ask it to set up AgentWeb. It calls agentweb_start_claim_link_signup and shows you one sign-in link.
  3. Once it has your aw_ key, add http_headers = { Authorization = "Bearer aw_YOUR_KEY" } to the [mcp_servers.agentweb] table and restart.
  4. Ask for a task. Codex checks list_actions for the site and calls execute.

Frequently asked questions

Can Codex use my logged-in accounts?

Yes, after a one-time hosted login started with agentweb_start_connection. Codex never sees the password.

Can I call it from a script instead?

Yes. POST https://mcp.agentweb.us/api/execute with domain, action and params, and an Idempotency-Key header for safe retries.
