How do I let an AI agent look up a LinkedIn profile before it reaches out?

Short answer. Use AgentWeb's get_profile on the /in/ name from the link, then get_profile_experience, get_profile_education, get_profile_skills and list_profile_posts. It all runs on the user's own signed-in LinkedIn session, so the agent sees what the user would see. Then it can write a message that fits the person and send it with the user's approval.

Steps

  1. Connect the user's LinkedIn once through AgentWeb's hosted login.
  2. Take the /in/ name from the pasted link and call get_profile. It returns the profile_urn, name, headline, About text and location.
  3. Call get_profile_experience for the work history. The row with no end year is the current role.
  4. Add get_profile_education, get_profile_skills and list_profile_posts if the message needs them.
  5. Check whether a free InMail is possible with verify_open_profile.
  6. Draft the message, get the user's approval, then send it with the right action for the connection degree.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the user's view or public data?

The user's view. AgentWeb reads from the user's own signed-in session, not from a third-party data provider.

Can I look up many profiles at once?

Look up the people you're actually going to contact. This is a tool for knowing who you're writing to, not for bulk collection.
