What is a hosted login for AI agents?

Short answer. A hosted login is a sign-in page run by the execution layer, not by the agent. The person signs in to the site once, and the agent can then act on their account, like placing an Uber Eats order or sending a LinkedIn message, without ever seeing the password. On AgentWeb, the agent starts one with agentweb_start_connection and checks it with agentweb_poll_connection.

A hosted login separates the agent from the credentials: the agent gets the ability to act, not the password.

How it works on AgentWeb

  1. The agent calls agentweb_start_connection for a site and gets a link.
  2. It sends the link to the person, for example in iMessage.
  3. The person signs in on that page.
  4. The agent calls agentweb_poll_connection until the connection is live.
  5. Actions on that site now run as that person, within the site's own limits.

The person can disconnect at any time.
