# Can an AI agent send a LinkedIn message for me?

> **Short answer.** Yes. AgentWeb's `send_message` sends a message into an existing LinkedIn conversation from the user's own account. The recipient gets it immediately. For a brand-new thread with a 1st-degree connection, use `start_conversation`, and for someone outside your network use `send_inmail`. The user signs in once through AgentWeb's hosted login, and the agent never sees the password.

## What it does

Sends a message into an existing conversation thread. It is a real send: the recipient receives it immediately and it cannot be unsent through this action. It cannot start a new thread.

## What your agent needs

- `conversation_urn`: the existing thread, from `list_conversations` or `search_conversations`.
- `mailbox_urn`: the member's own profile URN, from `get_me` (not `list_mailboxes`, which returns Company Page mailboxes).
- The message text.

## What comes back

The created message's URN and the echoed message body.

## Using it safely

- Show the user the exact text and recipient, and get a yes.
- Read the thread first with `get_conversation_messages`, so the reply fits the conversation.
- Pace messages the way a person would.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can it start a new conversation?

Not with `send_message`. Use `start_conversation` for a 1st-degree connection with no thread yet, or `send_inmail` for someone outside your network.

### Can a sent message be undone?

No. It is delivered immediately and this action cannot unsend it.

### What does it cost?

Each completed action costs $0.05, paid from prepaid blocks of $25, $50 or $100 that never expire. Failed actions are refunded.

### Which AI tools can use it?
