# Can an AI agent update my Crunchbase lists and deals?

By Andrey Marey, Founder of AgentWeb · As of Oct 22, 2026

> **Short answer.** Yes, through AgentWeb. As of Oct 22, 2026, the Crunchbase map (version 0.5.0) gives your agent 26 actions on the user's own Crunchbase account: 11 that change things (create lists and smart lists, add companies, export a list, create and update tasks and deals, add notes and tags) and 15 that read first (companies, people, funding rounds, saved lists, the account's plan).

Map: Crunchbase (crunchbase.com) · version 0.5.0 · 26 actions · Uses the person's own signed-in account

## What your agent can do on Crunchbase

| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| `create_list` | Creates a new empty static list. |
| `create_smart_list` | Saves a set of company filters as a smart list that updates itself. |
| `add_to_list` | Adds companies to one of the user's static lists. |
| `create_list_export` | Exports a saved list as CSV. This spends the account's export allowance. |
| `create_task` | Creates a task, optionally pinned to a company or deal. |
| `update_task` | Renames, reschedules, completes, reopens or moves a task. |
| `add_note` | Attaches a private note to a company. |
| `create_tag` | Creates a private tag. |
| `add_tag` | Puts an existing tag on a company. |
| `create_deal` | Opens a deal in the user's sales pipeline. A real pipeline change their team will see. |
| `update_deal` | Renames a deal, sets its close date or moves its stage. |

## What your agent can read first

| Action | What it returns |
|---|---|
| `search_entities` | Resolve a name into the ids everything else needs. |
| `search_locations` | Resolve a city, region or country name to its uuid. |
| `search_categories` | Resolve an industry name to its category uuid. |
| `search_companies` | Search the company database with typed filters. |
| `search_collection` | The same search pointed at another collection. |
| `search_deal_stages` | The deal stages of the user's own pipeline (per account, never reusable). |
| `search_deal_types` | The deal types of the user's own pipeline (per account). |
| `search_account_types` | The account types of the user's own pipeline (per account). |
| `get_company` | Read one company's profile. |
| `get_entity` | Read one non-company record in full, a funding round, an acquisition, a person, a hub or a school. |
| `search_scout` | Ask Scout, Crunchbase's own AI analyst, a question in plain English and get its answer plus the real search results behind it. |
| `list_my_lists` | List the saved lists on the signed-in account. |
| `get_list_members` | Read the members of one saved list, with the columns you choose. |
| `get_list_alerts` | Read the alert (notification) policies on one saved list, whether the user gets emailed when companies are added, and how often. |
| `get_account` | Read the signed-in account, who they are, which plan they are on, and what their entitlements allow. |

## How the login works

The person signs in once on Crunchbase through AgentWeb's hosted login, started with `agentweb_start_connection` and confirmed with `agentweb_poll_connection`. Your agent never sees the password. Actions then run on that person's own account, and they can disconnect at any time.

## Try it

```bash
curl -s https://mcp.agentweb.us/api/execute \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $AGENTWEB_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: crunchbase-company-1" \
  -d '{"domain":"crunchbase.com","action":"get_company","params":{"permalink":"stripe"}}'
```

Parameter names shown are illustrative. Your agent gets the exact schema for every action from AgentWeb's `list_actions` tool.

## What it does not cover yet

- Deleting lists, deals or notes is not mapped.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does it use the user's own Crunchbase plan?

Yes. Actions run on the connected account, and `get_account` shows the plan and what it allows, so the agent can check before promising an export.

### What does it cost?

Each completed action costs $0.05, paid from prepaid blocks of $25, $50 or $100 that never expire. Failed actions are refunded.

### Which AI tools can use it?

Any agent that speaks MCP or HTTP. Add `https://mcp.agentweb.us/mcp` as a remote MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex or Grok, or call the REST endpoint directly.
